Mini Garlic Doughballs
Mini Doughballs are easy to make and are great as a light and tasty starter. Brush with garlic butter, or bake without dressing and serve with olive oil!
Ingredients
1 x Kara Doughball 500g (defrosted as per instructions)
4 cloves of fresh garlic
Unsalted butter
A helping of grated parmesan cheese
A handful of fresh parsley - roughly chopped
Sea salt and cracked black pepper
Method
1. Take the defrosted dough and place on a floured surface. Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper.
2. Fold the dough (edges in the middle) several times. Roll into a sausage shape and cut off small pieces (about half the size of a ping pong ball).
3. Place cut dough pieces on a baking tray 1/2 inch apart. Cover with oiled cling film (loosely) and leave in a warm place to rest and rise, for approx 15 - 20 minutes
4. Pre heat the oven to 200C / Gas mark 7.
5. Peel and crush the garlic. Melt the butter in a pan over a low heat. Add the garlic and some sea salt. Cook until the garlic is softened but not coloured. Stir in the parsley and remove from the heat.
6. Brush garlich butter over the dough balls and place in the oven. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden. Remove from oven.
7. While warm brush again with the garlic butter, dust with some parmesan and serve with remainder of the garlic butter as a dip.
